The Waynedale Park splash pad in Fort Wayne, Indiana is a great way to beat the summer heat. Waynedale Park is located at the intersection of 2900 Koons Street & Elzey Street and is one of the city’s five parks with splash pads. The splash pads use touch-activation technology to spray water on users to help cool them down on those hot summer days. To turn on the water, look for a short pole about three feet tall with a plastic dome top located within the play area. Place your hand on the dome and water will appear shortly after and run for several minutes. When the water stops, repeat the procedure to start the fun again!
The Waynedale Park splash pad opens at the end of May and runs daily from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. through to Labor Day. After Labor Day, splash pad hours will be from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. until the end of the season. Use of the splash pad is free all season. The eight acre Waynedale Park was dedicated on July 7, 1958 and includes a basketball court, shaded playground equipment, restrooms, picnic tables, and benches. The park site also includes two tennis courts and fitness trails to walk, run, or bike along the perimeter of Waynedale Park. The pavilion at Waynedale Park is available to rent for any event or occasion.
