Hawk Island Splash Pad Review
The Hawk Island Splash Pad is the perfect place to spend a day out with your family. Splash Pads are different than pools or water parks as they have no standing water to swim in. Interactive water features are added to a playground giving your kids the opportunity to cool off and water seems to make everything more fun!
The Hawk Island Splash Pad is open Memorial Day until Labor Day and the hours are from 9am to 9pm. Although, the park may close early due to inclement weather conditions. The Splash Pad is 6,000 square feet and the original project was financed by Ingham County. Assistance from the National Park Service’s Land & Water Conservation Fund was provided and the City of Lansing also helped finance the project for area residents.
Hawk Island Splash Pad has fountains, water arches and water curtains to ensure that your kids get nice and wet. Bring your lawn chair and a book and spend the day relaxing watching your kids have a blast. Any day that you spend at the Hawk Island Splash Pad is a night that your kids will sleep really well
Hawk Island has many amenities available to keep a family busy. You can take a hike or bring a picnic and enjoy the scenery from Lake Lansing. Families who prefer to play sports together can enjoy soccer fields, volleyball and basketball courts. Bring your swim suits and sunscreen for a great day outdoors.
