As the temperature rises it’s time to find ways to cool down- the Buckner Park splash pad provides a fun way for kids to beat the heat this summer. Buckner Park is located at 6114 Bass Road. In addition to the splash pad this 200 acre park also has a covered picnic pavilion with restrooms (use is on a first-come basis), two playground areas as well as swing sets, and a nature trail that winds around the open area of the park.
There is no doubt the Buckner Park splash pad will be a popular destination this summer. For those not familiar with splash pads- these are aquatic playgrounds that spray water from ground nozzles, raised poles and hoses without leaving any standing water. Kids will love chasing each other in the spray areas!
Turning on the water is easy; simply touch the top of the green post to activate the water for cycles of 4 minutes.The splash pad at Buckner Park is scheduled to open for the season the last weekend of May, with operating hours of 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. through Labor Day. After Labor Day the splash pad will be open from noon until 8 p.m. for the remainder of the season. Mom and Dad will appreciate the fact that using the Buckner Park splash pad is absolutely free!
