There are a number of spray decks in Boston that offer up summer time relief from the heat. If you haven’t visited one of these splash pads yet and you have young kids, take the time to visit one and see why they are quickly becoming a favorite activity for young families.
Boston spray decks in particular are more abundant here than in most other US cities with a variety of options to choose from. Some offer adjacent park playgrounds, while some are in the heart of the city like the splash fountain at the Christian Science Plaza. There are some that are certainly better than others, but taking the time find a favorite is worth it.
All splash pads were built with safety in mind, with zero depth pools, recycled and treated water and soft padded grounds. Splash parks are lined with plenty of shade and seating to accommodate family gatherings, parties and picnics. What’s best though is that Boston area spray decks are free which make it such an appealing activity for families.
Boston area spray decks are open from late May to early September. On hot days, be strategic on when you plan to visit. Most parks will fill up fast, so early morning and late afternoon are certainly good options to plan for!
Below is a listing of each park in the city with a link to Google map to each splash pad! Have fun and enjoy your summer!
